I love the series, but the first is definitely the best. Freddy is one of the best horror villains of all time, but they ruined him after the first few movies by making him way to one dimensional with all the stupid one-liners and comedy bits. (Especially in Freddy's Dead... That was more of a comedy than a horror film.)
